more coherance?

Publication

Modern Painters . starts in.. looking in april 2008 edition..

the start. Peter Fuller in 1987.. John Ruskin’s book Modern Painters...

look at page 24 of the one that april i bought in the tate britain.

Recently I’ve been reading it.. introduced by dave hyde one of the tutors on my foundation course, enjoyed flicking through the several issues in the college library with friends  on a few occasions. Broad nature of the publication.. it’s in a language I can understand.

Adverts I really like.. I almost booked a ticket to Berlin due to one of them.

Makes me go to shows. Influential to me.

The Matthew collings .. style diary part i like.. kind of reminds me of how i would like to be able to write. . not sure if i’m a fan but enjoy reading it.. some of the points i become quite engaged in and sometimes frustrated with .

Format. Moving changing nature. Set myself the difficult task

aaargh I don’t like it very much the reasons perhaps the bigger paintings make me angry and i can’t feel much from it. The  little ones rock my boat a bit better. I think i almost got an explanation out of myself. I think it's because the little ones have all the freshness of the idea in it. The larger ones are just an assemblage to make a pretty postcard for ARt and money. I know that is what has to be done and i appreciate it. It just makes me not like the pictures.

I don’t like writing about things because it makes me feel uncomfortable reading it back to myself.

Painting s fun. The contents page and typography and that i know what i’m reading/ in relation to magazine. the language. seems like a simple start to the beginner of art. doesn’t seem like i shuld be knowing much already. lots of adverts that look tempting. that’s how i came across some painters and almost made me go to berlin next week.
